JUNIOR TEST TWENTY CHAMPIONSHIP
As the fourth format comes to life, Test Twenty will launch in January 2026 with its first ever tournament - The Junior Test Twenty Championship. A level playing stage for the world’s best young cricketers to showcase their talent, under the new rules of Test Twenty.
THE FRANCHISES
The championship will comprise of six franchises in total. With three international franchises from across the world representing cricket’s global reach, and three Indian franchises that will cement India’s place as the true spiritual home of cricket in its most modern era.
THE TEAMS
Each team will have 16 players. Grouped by merit, to form exciting rosters. As a result, these teams will be multicultural and inclusive. Players will get to learn and grow together as teammates.
THE AUCTION AND PLAYER POOL
The young applicants will pass through a selection process as global registrations and trials take place. After which, a thorough scouting sequence will follow that is unlike any other. A three-tiered approach supported by the latest tech, to scout the right talent without bias. Spanning globally for 4 weeks, there will be a final Auction Pool created with a total of 300 players worldwide. During the auction, franchises will compete to build their teams from this exclusive pool.
Finally, only 96 players will be drafted for the field in the first season. The rest of the 204 players will form the Wildcard Pool. As the name suggests, this will be a reserve of players that the franchises can call upon as wildcards during the tournament under the internal rules. This gives players who weren’t drafted, an opportunity to still play.
